DotGNU VRS project adopts Goldwater February 22nd 2002 The Microsoft .NET alternative DotGNU sub-project 'Virtual Remote Server' [VRS] today adopted netFluid Technology's Goldwater Middleware as its base architecture. Bill Lance, VRS project leader, said "Goldwater brings the full potential of middleware to the VRS design with a minimum trade off in performance and flexibility." Goldwater will provide both synchronous and asynchronous communication channels between nodes in the VRS cluster, along with reliable message queueing and guaranteed delivery. It's modular structure and excellent scalability meets the VRS's need of a flexible extensible architecture over which the system may be built.
